Don't want help in where to go in this unit, just was wondering if it was worth 3 point's for 3rd season. I would think after 4 mild winter's maybe the deer #s were back. Like I said just a little imput from the people around Gunnison.

Wouldn't waste my time in 54... 55 maybe. The outfit i guide for in 54 hasn't booked a deer hunter for the third season since 07. I guided a muzzleloader hunt in 54 this year and it was tough going to say the least. Ended up killing a buck and seeing two good bucks but it was slim pickings. Only reason we filled is due to I scouted hard for two weeks leading up to the hunt. Not alot of deer in the unit right to be honest, still some good bucks running around though. I spent last winter in gunnison and went out every weekend coyote hunting/deer looking and most of the good bucks i saw were in 55 out north of Parlin and Ohio city area.

Thanks for the feed back. I've guided in another Co. unit for 32 year's taken some huge buck's just thought for 3 point's it might be worth it.The tag is in my pocket and no matter what I will give it hell. ( still has to be a few good buck's around )

Haha good one. I think i have the pictures to prove that i spend plenty of time in the hills hunting and guiding. I guess when your clients fill out early you have to come into town and screw off on MM's for a while. I work as a electrical lineman now days.. Getting engaged and needing more money to start supporting a family makes a guy step away from it and get a real job.

Technology is a wonderful thing. I was checking in on Fantasy Football, MonsterMuleys, work, etc all from elk camp. CHeck out the elk forum and you can see the great bull Cole just took with his aunt.
