Come on guys

Do some of you guys really need to take pics sitting way back of your animal? I mean Come on. It is what it is.

i dont know about anybody else but when looking through old pictures id rather see a picture of a buck I have taken years back and have it look bigger than it really was rather than have a bad picture of a good buck. I say push those horns out and skyline them while youre at it!

Why does it freak some guys out when other guys do this?

Don't you compare the antlers to the deer's head or ears?

When the buck's head looks six feet long and three feet wide does that really throw you off?

LOL....

It's the same when people get all butt hurt when someone asks what they think their animal scores. Somebody always posts the comment "who cares about score, its good enough for me" I just dont get why people get so offended with others success.

Once AGAIN........if you don't like it, don't do it!

It ain't up to you to be the "photo police"......do you raise a fuss when you see a woman in a push up bra?

sh!t a better argument than that!"

WTH difference does it make to you. Let people make their own choice of picture, they are the ones who did the work and shot the animal...
If you would stop sitting on your racks and pull the tines out of your a$$ you may not be so grumpy.

I for one do not take these pics when I am successful. That being said I kinda see where you are coming from but let people do what they want to do. What difference does it make. It's not your animal. Take pics how you want to take pics. Make the most of your hunt.

Who really gives a hoot. I personally just like to look at the deer and don't care where the heck people are in the frame, just as long as there happy with it. Unbelievable!!!

LAST EDITED ON Oct-13-12 AT 11:34PM (MST)[p]Me, i'm with windstalker, the OP, original poster

When i see a rack of horns that are obviously stuck way out in front of the camera to make them look huge, i think of the guy in junior collage who used to put a sock in his shorts to make himself look bigger. I think of the guy who's money clip has a bunch of one's in the middle with a single hundred or a couple fifties on the outside, i think of the guy who is trying really hard to be something or somebody that he is not. That's what i think.

Now, nothing wrong with making your fish or trophy animal look as good or nice as it can be. i have way too many older pic's of my good animals taken from 20' away. We were not into photo's much at the time, i didn't ever even own a camera during the period of most of my hunting. Anyway, there is a line that some don't mind crossing, they'll stick the camera right between the horns of a rack, yep, sock in his shorts! :)

lol is that your club house mask? great photo!

I also like to have my hands on the antlers as well and agree with Joey and the original poster that a photo of you sitting 4 feet behind the animal looks tacky. jmho

They've got New Technology with Camera's making the Animal look Bigger than it really is!(I don't know what it's called?)

Most of the Big Time Outfitters use them!

The only Question I have is:

How Gosh Damn much Bigger do you need a 400"+ Bull to look?

15" Bases?
30" 5ths?
GOOD GAWD A MIGHTY!

+2.

Whatever floats your boat but sometimes the forced perspective photography gets down right silly.

Thank some of you for agreeing with me. I got nothing against any of you guys but that is just not the way to take success pics. I just see these hunters that take these pics as fake. I come from the old days where we took pics of deer in the backs of trucks and with a cig in our mouth. Sometimes we didnt even take pics. Now every thing is different.

I Am all about taking pics of the hunts for lasting memories. But I am also old school I like to see pics of hunters grabbing the base of the antlers palms up holding the head up themselves. Or as Elk go hold the head up by the tines. Not by using rocks or sticks then getting way back like they don't want to touch it. Or extend their arms out as far as possible for the sole purpose of trying to make it look bigger then it really is. That's just me. Hunters can do what they want. Maybe its a Generation thing I know back in my Uncles day in Colorado he went Elk hunting to get meat for his Family. Most of the time the head and antlers never made it off the mountain and if they did they went to the dump soon after he got home. Things have changed since then To a lot of Hunters the head and antlers are more important than the meat.

What do you all think?

This is a small 3 point that is at my friends Taxidermy shop for Euro mount! My friend and I took the photo last week to make fun of a buddy who is always trying to make his little deer look big with the extended arms and sitting far faaaarrrrrrr back behind the animal. Our photo is all in fun and games, so no one take it to heart and get all pissy about it

My hand is about 16 inchs from the bucks antlers. We thought it would add to the photo to make it look like they were holding it LOL

The fact that people are worried how others take pictures is a shame. Shut up and quit complaining you freaking cry babies. Who really cares. People in our country will whine about the dumbest little things that dont matter.

Thats creative ! Two points for creativity or would that be 3 points ? I have never seen the hand 16 " behind thing. Just have fun with it guys. How cares what it scores.

As long as you aren't sitting on your anaimal, I am good to go.

Nothing looks more disrespectful than sitting on your downed game like it is a damn horse.

Looks very sloppy to me.
