That's a pretty cool looking buck! Looks like a old bugger. That dog has a pretty cool camo pattern for a coat, blends right in! Haha

What's up with a little gal getting to kill a toad buck like that? :) I'm Jealous!!

So, what's the story, how far was the shot and what was she shooting...

Thanks and Congrats to the huntress!!

Is she one of the Bess family from southern utah ( P town ) ? What a great buck ! I hope it wasn't her first ? :) I am a old man and have never ever killed a buck that big. Congrats young lady !

Very nice buck......should include the caliber, distance, time of day & .........we all wanna' know.

Within the shadows, go quietly.

Monster for a young Lady. Congrats. We could use some advice about big buck killing from her great job.

That buck has ruined her for life... :D What a heavy bruiser of a buck...

Sorry, but somebody has to be a jerk- is it really 197"..?? I mean, what is easy to see looks like maybe 172"... so the stuff that's hard to see must be like 25 inches..??

It's a stud no matter what, and taken by a 15 yr old... WOW..!!

This buck was taken on the last day of the season at 2:00 afternoon not when your supose to see them. I glassed him right at light that morning watched him lay down in some tall brush. I left him still laying there at 11:00. I figured he would get up and move back into the trees when the sun started to hit him. But by 11:00 he was still in the shade and i was tired of waiting. I went down and got my daughter, we made a plan to sneak up to the bottom of the opening he was in and wait. Hoping he would feed out that evening. When we got to the opening I told her this was your last chance so we need to be real quiet and patient because we would be sitting there for along time. 10 min. later she poked me in the side and pointed towards where the buck was last seen bedded. I couldnt beleive it! The buck was up feeding 10 yards from were he was last seen him. She had no problem landing the 100 yard shot. I have done alot of hunting in my life but theres nothing that compairs to hunting with your own child. Congrats cait! This is her second buck here is a pic of her first buck. Shes is a lucky sucker!

Awesome for Caitlin! You're absolutely right that there is NOTHING that compares to hunting with your children!!! ;-)

You should also post in the Youth forum!

LAST EDITED ON Nov-20-12 AT 12:04PM (MST)[p]Why is it that "somebody has to be a jerk"? Can't somebody just share a photo without somebody jumping all over them? Great buck!

What a great buck! Congrats to Caitlin! Man, some great deer were taken in UT this year. Pretty impressive year overall.

Wow that's a great story. Thanks for sharing it with us. If I can say, you are looking a little older with that hair on your upper lip. }> Talking about the pictures with you and your bull a few years back.

Great story. Great buck!
It's always fun to see the girls do well.
Congratulations from an old deer hunter!
