Anyone do any good in these units? I posted earlier this year on help on the units but only got a few comments. Either people didn't want to help due to my length of membership and limited amount of posts, or those units really have very little exposure and nobody knows anything about them. I appreciate what info I did get from those that commented and I hunted hard but didn't see anything mature enough to take. Great hunt but no good bucks. I'd love to see if anyone was successful and what type of quality deer roam in the areas.

Foreverwest,
Wish I could give you a report, but haven't hunted that unit.
Really just wanted to comment on your post...I have visited the MM site for years, but just recently "registered" and started "posting".
I really hope that other members haven't ignored you because you are "new" or only had a few posts. In fact, the first time I registered and made a post was because someone had asked for some insights to "low" cost hunts in the Greys River area and I really thought I had some comments of interest and value.
I still have a low number of posts but a whole lot of viewing. I hope we are all valued members and willing to help each other out when possible.
Best of luck to you!

Those units are around Mancos right? Hunted there once never been back. Most the areas where deer are 3rd season are private land which is why you did not get any posts from people who have hunted there. From my experience most the decent land is leased up. You have the Ute reservation limiting access on the south, Mesa Verde limiting access on the west, and most everything else is private. Not worth the price of admission unless you know someone who will give you access.

Thanks or the replies guys. I was apprehensive about the replies because of previous posts I had read about newer members and some discriminating comments. I hope everyone on here would be more open and accepting than that but you never know now a days. I guess beggars for information can't be choosers! But I sure plan on helping anyone out that I can if I have the knowledge. The Colorado units did have a lot of private, but there was also lots and lots of blm that intertwined. I spent countless hours glassing the nasty rugged canyons of blm and didn't see a deer. I'm assuming the bucks were bedding on the flats of pinyons between the fields and canyons. Definitely a hunt where you want some access, but then again we didn't even see any good bucks on the densely populated private sections that were full of does either. Thanks for all your responses.

I had a friend hunt that unit this year, but he was pretty disappointed as well. The best buck they saw that was in an area they could shoot was a 22" 3 point. He was also saying that the deer were hanging more on the private ground.
As far as responding to new posters, I honestly never look at the number of posts a person has, unless the question is a "lazy"...somebody do all my work for me type question.

However, the archery/muzzy seasons hold lots of deer on public.....
