What is the story behind this buck??

This buck was killed by my Grandpa back in the 50s in the Basalt-Aspen area of Colorado .He left the antlers hanging in a tree and never went back to get them !!!I asked why and he said you cant eat the horns !!!!A great buck

My dad has allot of big buck black and white photo's from him and my Uncle Neal hunts from them growing up in the Malad, Idaho area and some from the Wasatch Front, back in the day.

Ever since my mom past away, my dad (82 years old now) can't seem to find much of what mom stored away....she was very organized.

One of these days we will open the correct box and find them.

Even with me in a few photo's back in my snot nose brat days..ha

I call photo shop. There is no way you can kill a buck like that with an open sights 30-30.

Nice buck by the way.

Those old guns filled the air with lead, back in the day. My first three years hunting was with a similar weapon and deer like that were able to survive because guns like that were the norm.

Times have certainly changed...not necessarily for the better!

Great looking Buck i think if i had to use iron sights like they did the Deer would be pretty safe.
