Very nice..

Government doesn't fix anything and has spent trillions proving it!!!
Let's face it...After Monday and Tuesday, even the calender says WTF!

Thanks Cutbow. I did the work myself over the last month. I still have some finishing touches to do but its done for the most part.

Thanks 280! I did alot of alterations on the form and even had to get a bigger head for the form. I am really happy with how it turned out.

First, I've been following this "happening" and must say it's about as wonderful thing that could ever happen to a guy who loves to hunt bucks!! Also, your mount looks Fantastic!!

I'm usually of a mixed mind on Velvet antlered deer. I like the look of the velvet on the racks and think that adds to them but i usually don't like the reddish brown long haired blotched capes that can come with early season hunts. Your cape though, looks slicked off. Did you do something to it to make it that way or was that the way it was when it came off the mountain?

Congrats!!

Joey

LAST EDITED ON Feb-18-13 AT 08:22AM (MST)[p]Sageadvice,

thanks for the compliment on my mount. The "happening" was the most chaotic thing I have ever seen. It has totally changed my outlook on what could happen while hunting. Nature always takes its course, I just happend to be there at the very moment it happend>--->

As far as velvet antlered deer go, I agree with you on the reddish brown hair. some of them look like an old rat on their last leg. My buck only had red hair on his shoulder and I was falling out every time I touched it. I am not sure if its due to age or he was just done shedding his winter hair. When I got the cape back from the tannery, almost all of the red hair was gone. There is still quite a few long red hairs but they blend in pretty good. He has the most beautiful summer cape I have ever seen.
