Vernon Archery deer

Thanks Wisz for talking with me today about the Vernon Unit.

I am looking for some general area's to start looking for deer for my archery hunt in August. I should be able to get back there in July to start scouting. I moved to Wyoming over a year ago and was looking for some help where I could look at maps to get some general starting points. I used to live in Utah and it has been years since stepping foot on that mountain and I wasn't paying attention to the deer.

I know that some don't want to help, but if anyone can help with a once in a lifetime hunt, it would be very appreciated. Applying as a non resident makes it hard to draw the good area's, as the reason why I applied for one of the 3 tags that they gave this year on the Vernon Unit. Drew with 6 BP's. Pretty lucky.

Even though I haven't had any responses to this post, I have recieved a few PM's and would like to say thanks to those that I am either talking to or will be calling later this month.

This is a great site, and even though I don't post much, I read and watch all the posts daily.

I plan on making it the best deer hunt yet. I would like to get one bigger than the 2 I have gotten the past 2 years in Nevada. One was a 28" 4x6 and last years archery buck was a deep forked 4x4.

I have a muzzleloader tag, so I'm sure I will see you on the mountain and will help you out any way I can. I will head up there a week before my hunt opens. I will pm you when we get closer.

Sounds good. I am heading up on the mountain this weekend to look for some bucks. I will touch base with everyone that has given me some information already.
