Hey guys here's the last of the videos I put together from my weeklong trip in eastern and southern Utah. This was the best trip into the Book Cliffs I have had. Great bucks, great video and we even saw a bear that was too quick for me to film.

In total, on my trip, my dad and I saw 8 bears - 4 on Elk Ridge, 3 on The Blues, and 1 in the Book Cliffs. Three days in a row, in three different areas of the state. Guess the bears are flourishing...

Enjoy the vid, I have always put in for the rifle tag in the Books, but this trip almost made me want an archery tag...

Also, are there wild horses in the Books..?? We saw a lone horse, and two small groups of horses while there..???

That video brought back some fond memories of my scouting trips out there last year. I had the rifle tag last year and if I had to do it over again I would go after the archery tag. I saw a lot more mature bucks during the earlier season than during the rifle season. Great memories though and no complaints!

Now I just need to get my 13yr old daughter to get lucky one of these next few years so I can relive what I went through out there!!

Here is what I came home with...

I've got an archery tag this year for the Bookcliffs. This video got me even more excited. I am going August 9th-11th for one more scouting trip. Haven't scouted the roaded part at all. Where did you take this video if you don't mind me asking?

Yes there are wild horses on the Books, dang things are everywhere. Some areas more than others, but there are some spots where their numbers are way out of control. To my knowledge the herd there is never managed in any way.

Nice Video. A couple of those bucks looked really nice. Really liked the 4 point with the nice brow tines. Would love to slip an arrow into that buck!

Great video, fun to see. I haven't been out there as much this year. Your video make me want to get back out there bad. I have always said that the archery hunt is your best chance to find and pattern big bucks. The muzz hunt they are still on the summer range, but just harder to find, not as grouped up not out in the open as much. The rifle hunt all bets are off. It is a crapshoot. Maybe they are up high, maybe down low, maybe somewhere in the middle? You just have to hunt hard and hope you turn up a big one during the hunt. All are fun hunts in their own way. Good luck to the guys with tags this year.

I went on a spotting trip last weekend and the buck you filmed at 02:35 (the 5x5 with the big eye guards) was the first buck we saw! Saw him in the evening and in the morning. Can't wait for this weekend! Both of his cheaters looked a little bigger in person:) What a small world!
