Unit 21/30 Colorado Archery Hunt

I drew this tag, have had my eye on it for a while. I went scouting last weekend, and it didn't go as well as I thought it would. We didn't see the number of deer as I would have liked. We ended up in the higher/thicker country along the 21/30 edge, west of the 139. It looked like the best country in the unit during the early season, (we drove quite a bit of it). My question, am I missing something here? The lower country was dry and we turned up few to no tracks. The NE side looked good in spots, but no deer tracks or sightings. THANKS in advance for any help, and if I can return the favor, please let me know.
