Just thought I'd have some fun and see what you all think this buck would score. I'm not really big into what a buck scores, more into character. Regardless, he's an awesome buck and will have my full attention this weekend for the opener.

Great buck, he'd have my attention too. The angles are messing with me in the pic's but I'd guess 185 gross.

That is one cool buck. A little tough scoring him but I would put him Around 185. For me though I wouldn't hesitate on lettin the arrow fly. Good luck to u and hopefully we get a bunch of other cool pics of him in the ground.

I think he will come close to 180". Like you said don't worry about the score and put him down. Good luck and show us some harvest pics.

That's kinda what I was thinking, somewhere between 180-190. I always seem to overestimate a buck, so it seems I'm in the ball park. Either way, I think he's an awesome deer with tons of character and will do everything I can to put him on the ground.

OK yall know I am really conservative when I guess these deer but for the first time I am going the other direction from the main crowd. As a gross this deer will blow 185 out of the water. Should break into the 190s real easy. As a net score he is going to get ripped apart.

On a side note, and I know I will take flack for this also, this looks to be a solid big bodied older buck 7+ years. A lot of the buck pictures that get posted here are not in the age class of this deer and therefor many times those deer don't score as high as we think and this deer scores more than we think.

This buck has a very deep brisket, a very thick back from holding that big belly up, and a fat butt with two big hams pushing him. He has a very wide brow. He has a 21 inch summer neck measurement and look at all those wrinkles in his neck. That is years of neck swelling and shrinking. By the time rut hits this dude is going to be a monster in body.

Thankyou for posting this deer. I hope you find him when the season opens. He will be one hellavu trophy and the kind of deer that should be admired.

I never agree with Tristate on anything except his assessment of this deer and I believe he's correct. Good luck I'd shoot him archery or rifle.

LAST EDITED ON Aug-16-13 AT 08:23AM (MST)[p]I can't get him over 180. He looks mid to upper 170's to me. Compact frame. Short mains and inside spread and G2's; and no brow tines. Maybe 10" of trash on a 165-170ish frame. He does look big-bodied, though, so I could be wrong. I'd shoot that buck.
