Here are some pictures of my 2013 Book Cliffs archery hunt. We had an unbelievably fun time out there. We seen a handful of shooter bucks, and after 4 days of hunting, and 10 blown stalks I was finally able to seal the deal! He definitely wasn't the biggest one I put the sneak on, but a keeper in my book!
Lots of these guys roaming around!
Seemed like every canyon held one of these guys bedded in the shade. We just had to pick apart the hillside until we found them.
Big Thanks to my best buddy Taylor Edwards. I wouldn't have seen or stalked half the deer if it weren't for him. "Eagle Eyes"
I ended up getting 7 yards above this buck.. When suddenly i felt the breeze hit my back... the buck never looked back.
Long days looking through glass can sure get to you.. My dad decided to bed down himself..
On Tuesday morning at 10:00 we spotted my buck bedded down up on the opposite ridge near the boulders.
Here is my buck just as he was bedding... The stalk was on!
At 1:45 I was able to climb on top of a 10 foot boulder and get straight above the two bucks bedded. I knew they were somewhere in the brush below me.. So i stood on the boulder for 5 minutes or so, when suddenly the wind swirled and straight below me in the brush I caught movement of tines. The two buck bolted from their beds and headed straight down hill. As the bucks turned to the right, I ranged the smaller buck at 48 yards, then came to full draw knowing the bigger buck would be right behind him. When he came in the open I gave out a grunt. He stopped and looked back at me, and that's when I put my 40 yard pin right on him and released!
My arrow went straight though him and stuck in the ground a few yards past where he stood! My G5 T3 expandables did the job!
He ran 75 yards and expired immidiately.
Me and my dad. Buck was 25 inch outside spread, with 4 inch eye gaurds
I was so grateful I was able to spend this hunt with my dad Ryan Finch, and my buddy Taylor Edwards who unfortunately had to head home an hour before I got my shot. Huge thanks to you guys! I couldn't have asked for a better hunt!
