After two years of hunting this buck he finally made a mistake! I owe a huge thanks to our awesome friend Joe, my dad Jon, and my little bother Tyson, It wouldn't have happened without them. I was fortunate enough to get a pic of him on my trail cam, and honestly it was the only hope we had. We spent the last month and a half before season trying to see him with our eyes and we were unsuccessful. We kept after it and 4 days into the muzzleloader season Stickers finally showed himself. Our minds were racing, we kept thinking about the two times he had given us the slip during the 2012 muzzy season. We made a few adjustments to our plan from last year and went for it. Joe got a quick shot at the buck as he was sneaking out the back door. Unfortunatly he missed the shot, which is very unusual for him. But he forgot to concider the 45 degree slope he was shooting down and shot right over his back. The next morning found us glassing from the same spots and much to our suprise the buck was back in the same spot doing the same thing as the day before! ROUND TWO! We went with the same plan and this time Stickers ran out the other back door and I got a split second shot at 25 yards as he jumped over some downed timber. Tyson had jumped him out of his bed so he started following his tracks. As I was reloading Tyson appeared in the 10 ft window where I had just shot at the monster buck. He yelled and said the buck was laying dead in his tracks right there and instanly my body fell to the ground. Words can't explain the excitment and emotions that I was experiencing. My dad and Joe made there way down to where he laid and we all soaked in the moment. Two years of hunting this buck had made so many memories and the best part of the whole thing was having people I loved there to experience it with. Hope you guys enjoy looking at him as much as I do. And Im not a writer nor do I know how to spell very well, but hopefully it was legible ha ha
