"City Deer" Eye Candy

I have seen velvet pics of this deer on MM before, but I can't remember seeing hard-horned pics. Here are some I took this morning with my cell phone (sorry for the quality, I didn't have a real camera with me).

It looks like maybe the velvet isn't all scraped off or something. I can't tell what it is.

Good thing that deer is not in logan (city)! He would have an arrow in him.

No it's the new thing.
Those are antler hand warmers/tracking device that have been added when the buck was tranquilized.
It's to make sure the guide and prolific paying client do not get there hands cold and waste time walking.
After being chased to some private land in late December or January you know it gets cold when the pics are taken.

I sat and watched him today on 2 different occasions. He was eating so many apples I expected him to either lay down with a belly ache or something, he must of eaten 8-9 in the few minutes I watched him the first time, and he was within 20 yards of the same apple tree the 2nd time I saw him.

Neat buck. Fun to have around.
