Bonus Points: Yes you lose them if you draw second choice.
Preference Points: NO you get one if you draw second choice.
Preference Points: NO you get one if you draw second choice.
So what is the difference between Bonus point and preference points?
I've decided I want to start putting in for a different General deer unit, and I think it may take me a year or 2 to draw it, but I don't want to miss out on hunting, so I want to put the unit I hunt now as my 2nd choice, and it is one I know I could get as my 2nd choice, but I don't want to risk having it sell out before I get a chance to buy it over the counter.

Seems like a few years ago I drew a 2nd choice antlerless elk tag and they took my preference points.

I put in for 18 years for a Pauns rifle tag and drew a second choice general season tag on many occasions WITHOUT losing my pauns bonus points.

That is because bonus points have nothing to do with general tags. As stated, those are preference points. So you wouldn't lose your bonus points even if you draw a 1st choice general season tag.
