Well, being the second time hunting in Colorado I can say I will be back again and again. Colorado IMO has done right with their mule deer management. I have managed to hunt two great units the past 3 years and have seen a lot of great looking mule deer country and seen lots of good bucks that most wouldn't hesitate shooting. After hunting the same little bowl 2 1/2 days straight I went in after the tall heavy wide 175" buck that I watched for a few hours each day just out of range only to shoot this guy at 145 yards after going in for the big one and him giving me the slip. No regrets as I was in my element and loving every minute of the hunt. Was a mostly downhill packout with a heavy load and a smile. Had some good friends on the hunt and was able to see my buddy take the 175" buck the next morning at 320 yards not more than 200 yards from where I took mine the day before and made some great memories. 3 of the 4 of us tagged out with nice 4x4's and knowledge of some new country. Hopefully I can draw this same tag next year and can go after a few that were able to give us the slip.
