Looking at deer by Reno

I was wondering if someone could give me some advice on where a guy could go around Reno to look at bucks during the rut and winter. I know some of the bucks come into some residential areas but was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction. I may take a ride later this year to take pictures of some bucks. Thanks

I would take the short drive to Washoe Lake south of Reno. There are hay fields east of the lake that always have deer in them. The bigger bucks will start showing up there soon because of the rut.

Probably not enough weather to push them down yet unless this storm dropped some snow up high. If there is snow in the mountains around Reno you could try the Dogskin and Peterson mountains.

My buddy is setting a bridge there right now and says there's a really nice 4x5 just east of town and south of I80.
There's also an albino coyote loping around the area. He wants it really bad but too many people see it as their pet do he doesn't dare pop it... (plus it's in town LOL)

Head up to Peavine. Go up to the microwave towers and head north and west on any roads that are accessible. Bucks are all over the place.
