Old buck down

Just returned from Muley country and had a short hunt as we found this old bruiser on the first day of the hunt. One shot from the .300 RUM and he was down. Temps were pretty low (-4 F) when we found him. Always love getting out and spending time in the outdoors.

Good Old Buck, THAT looks cold.

Hard to believe a buck can survive that long in habitat like that with the optics available these days. Great buck! Takes a good management program, or a very lucky buck.

He had velvet still on his tips of his antlers, really added to the uniqueness of this buck. Also appeared to have an injury on the outside of the rack that may have led to the retained dried velvet.

That's interesting and gives it a unique look.
