BEST HUNT YET!

LAST EDITED ON Dec-12-13 AT 06:13PM (MST)[p]I have hunted a lot over the years but this year has to be one of the best. I took my wife for her first trip with a rifle and we loved every minute of it (at least I did). I had so much fun seeing her smile. She is so much fun. We packed in with our horses, I cooked her ribeyes and onions, the snow was thick in the trees but the bucks were still up high. She shot the buck at 260 yards by the rock I told her the buck would come out from behind....she was amazed I called that one..... She wasn't thrilled to be sleeping in the wall tent at 10,000 feet elevation at 15 degrees....but....I packed in foam pads, fleece blankets, and had her feet right by the barrel stove. She fell asleep with a smile on her face.

I always enjoy seeing all of your posts and thought we should share one as well.

I didn't draw this year....but she did....so I did too. It's not about who got the big buck....it about who got the best memories with people you love.

The other guys in camp rolled their eyes a bit as I tucked her into those fleece blankets....but I think they were also a bit jealous.

It not about the biggest buck, it is and should always be about the hunt and the memories that you get from it, And you racked up some good ones on this hunt.
Wish I had done the same with my wife when we was younger.
You guys keep making those trips.

I love that picture of my mom and dad....my dad just signed me up for Monster Muleys! My mom is awesome! and my dad will take me on a hunt soon...I am so exited!
