My grandfather did the same thing, throwing his biggest trophies away. I have only seen one picture of two big bucks and the word of his children that he really did shoot them. The only memory that I have of my grandfather is him sitting in front of the TV until he was put in a rest home. The otherside of my family did the same but the picture part. That is why I always keep my biggest trophies. I would like some kind of honor and dignity in my family and not just a big belly.
I am glad that my father saved his trophies. When he passes on they will be displayed either at my house or one of my brothers with honor and respect, no matter the size.
If you couldn't tell, hunting means more to me than filling a tag or my stomach. I want to write more, but for respect to your thread, I will keep my opinions to myself. Thanks for sharing.

I'm not one for telling my grandson how big of turd I had to pinch off from having to eat so much meat. I want to give him the trophies that hang from my wall and tell him the unforgettable experience that came with each and every one.
