I was just wondering when the deer drop there horns. I was on the Wasatch front today and saw three younger deer with only one horn on each side. I thought they didn't drop tell later February/April. I saw around 100 deer and only five of them where bucks. So I was wondering if some have lost there horns already. Thanks

You already know the answer by seeing one horn bucks. I've seen a lot of one horn and shed bucks already. I always see a few shed in January but this year it seems there are more

I looked at a ton of deer yesterday, didnt see any missing one side, or any deer that looked like they could have been bucks that dropped bith sides.

Thanks. It just seem to me it is a little early this year. Do you know if the bigger ones loose there horn first. I was hoping to get some video of some good bucks but I might of waited to long.

From Jan. to Mar. to early Apr. even. I wouldn't think there would be very many antlers on the ground yet.

All horns are local as in drainage specific, certainly differing by region and state. Believe what you see not what you read on the computer. Feb. 1st to april 15th are good guidelines for a starting point. It will vary by the year also sometimes by a month, harder conditions = early dropping.

I saw three bucks in southern Utah last week and two were already missing an antler. I was wondering the same thing. Lost them in a battle or already shed? Seems too early but to be shedding, but who knows?

I could go out tomorrow morning and find 5 bucks that have shed atleast one side. But it's too F'ing cold so I'm sleeping in. :)

I'm surprised it took so long for someone to mention they're not horns
