This buck with sweet! Peter Eades sent over this photo and a dozen others. I added them to the site in our Photo Tours section. Take a look. Great eye candy.

LAST EDITED ON Jan-19-14 AT 11:58AM (MST)[p]33 or 34 could right.

2nd question, Does he net 190?

Yelum

Theres logic, and theres women. They don't go together.

I think he could go 36" but i'll say 35".

Between 33-35 inches wide.

Does he net 190? I think so. I am not a big 'net' guy. I believe that if they grow it, they should get credit for it. And I'm certain he grosses 190+.

Bucks where he was photographed are the biggest bodied deer I have ever seen. He is a monster in the body even for there.
I say 36-37

Familiar with the same area as well and agree with Buckspy 35-37". Huge body on that particular buck may throw some off.

35 and yes that huge body is making those horns look small.
I know I wouldn't think twice on pulling a trigger on him.

He'll net 195-198 too. He is an extra wide basket rack configuration. With the curve of his tines and G-2s he has alot of length and those measurements are deep on the beam. Of course that's just my opinion....I could be wrong.

LAST EDITED ON Jan-20-14 AT 04:04PM (MST)[p]id guess 32-33 outside. i think he would be close to gross 190 maybe...on the high side. not a lot of deductions it doesnt look like tho.

could be way off tho.

I already said on post #4, "I think he could go 36" but i'll say 35".

I'll stick with that...

As far as score, Maybe, wouldn't be surprised but, i don't see enough up front to give him 190 on the typical frame. 186-189, i think he'd be in there someplace.

For the very first time ever, i actually gave someone heck for continually saying this, "who cares what he scores?" :) That's a freaking toad Buck in anyone's Book!!

LAST EDITED ON Jan-20-14 AT 08:24PM (MST)[p]Im saying 34-36 wide, and 203.5 gross with 198 frame, 190.5 Net. Stud buck and a Giant body on that pig.

For those who haven't experienced the size of Colorado Plains bucks first hand, it might be hard to comprehend how truly huge these bucks can be in the body. Most mature deer are easily 300 live weight and a few break 350 with ease, especially pre-rut. This buck appears to go over 350 with ease and I have seen these bucks walking and rutting at distances as short as a few feet. They are jaw-dropping huge.

For the most part there aren't serious winters out there and the feed is exceptional in places. Aaron Neilson has told me that quite often hunters will argue with him and his guides about the size/ score of bucks that they are on because they don't realize how big the bodies are on these bucks.

This buck has his right ear cocked slightly to the right extending his ear spread slightly reducing the front spread impact just slightly also. His head looks somewhat small compared to his body but let me assure you he is no pin-head. If you look at Peter Eades latest photo tour you can see a quartering shot and see the G-4s angling forward and they curve outward and appear to be 9.5-10 IMO.

His left side looks slightly shorter on tines. Extras and symmetry deducts would be less than 10. Beams at least 25. Mass at least 20. 2's are 19 isn. !3 on the short 3 and 14 on the right. 10 on the 4's and 1.5 on the 1's. Inside spread 27-28.

It's not just a big buck but an awesome buck.

I looked and said 35". And then I saw that BUCKSPY was on board and said the same. Who can argue with him about CO mule deer? Either way, a big-time stud.

Thanks for a good post. Nice to have some drama-free mule deer pics on the site.

Another question for you BUCKSPY. Which is the bigger deer, this one, or the 38 inch you hammered? :)

The only thing wrong with this picture is that I didn't take it. AWESOME!!!!

My guess is like everyone else. 33-35"

You guys are dreaming...he has stubby main beams and week G4's. No way that deer is a book buck. Guessing 32".

That's a helluva buck!
My guess would be: He'll gross just short of 200" and sports an outside width between 34 and 35".
I would be proud to take that photo but even more proud to let the wind out of him.
Great buck and wonderful photo composition and quality!
