Was bored and thought I would ask a few here for scores on some of my pops bucks. I am not a score guy so I don't know how to score em. I just enjoy being out and feel each animal is a trophy in its own way. My dad was very successful for a short window before some things took him away from hunting for 15 years and he has not drawn any decent hunt in recent years. We mostly hunt near home here in Cali these days. Anyway here are a few of my pops old bucks.

This is Chainsaw, my dad had been hiking when some guys came in and started cutting firewood. An hour into it my dad came off the hillside as he watched several small Bucks and doe's leave the area. Just as he got down to the road the loggers started pulling a long chain out of the bed of the truck making huge noise and this Buck busted out from under a tree after staying put all the time my dad had walked past and they had used chainsaws.

This Buck was when my pops was with a friend and guide and while glassing he spotted bedded and made a 300 yd shot. His buddy said that at the time it was one of the better bucks taken from his ranch as it was not an are known for large deer.

This buck was in a group lined out in migration in deep snow and my Dad took him on final day of his hunt.

My mother got this one and I was maybe 6 yrs old and remember it like yesterday. My father , mother, uncle, two sisters and myself were piled in the Saburban headed to camp and it was dumping. The buck was spotted and my mother shot it and it fell over a steep hillside. My uncle had a broken leg so I remember watching through Binos when my uncle let me and my parents trying to drag it uphill in snow. Took hours but they got it done.

This one we call Redwood because it had a redwood garden stick in its hoof. Closest town was 25 miles but obviously at some point it went through garden and got it stuck. The snow gave it away as we watched this buck for 5 days. He'd would come down a hillside to water and straight back up under a tree. Only deer on the hillside and when my dad finally decided to take him he walked within 25 yds to get a shot and it just held there. Prob would not have made it through the winter as its hoof was infected.
This one was fun as we lucked out and had heavy snow. I was 16 and had buck fever several time already during the hunt. In the early dawn I saw and shot at what would still be the largest buck I have ever seen. Guessing at it, myself my Dad, and uncle all thought it was at least 32 wide but super heavy and what seemed as tall. Well later I shot a 4x3 that I shouldn't have and that afternoon I spotted this buck and said dad shoot this one fast is nice. He didn't even pick up his gun but walked over looked and asked where? I pointed t it as it was 50 yes away. He quickly retrieved hid rifle and shot it. Its rack was more laid back than as it looks in the photo but it was 31 wide when he took it. This summer I could only muster 30 wide. Funny part was we saw another really big one on way back to camp that night but were tagged out.
I have tried to find my uncles largest mount but believe it was stolen years ago. He has since passed but it was 37 wide with thinner antlers but great boxy frame.
Thanks in advance and its fun to share these. The redwood buck sat in a hot storage unit and when he picked it up it came apart so thus the epoxy in its eye. The rest are at the Sportsman Sporting goods here in South Lake Tahoe along with other mounts of animals and I have a bunch of fish there.

I must have not put in final photo that would go with the end of the post. Here is that one.

Thanks for sharing....
I like your mom's buck the best.
I also think it scores the highest and is in the upper 190's possibly....
Difficult to tell on just one picture(or pictures in general).
Nice buck no matter the score!
