Kirt Darner got what he deserved. However these great bucks should be recognized for what THEY are. If a buck was taken fair chase and scored enough to be the world record typical then so be it. The deer is the one that lived long enough to grow the rack. The deer and the original hunter should get the credit.

That's kinda what I think, just attach the name of the guy (Lee) who took it to it, no need to associate it with a guy who had possession of it for a little while. Why drag a great buck through the mud with this Darner guy when he wasn't even the supposed hunter?

If Darner didn't kill it just had possession of it. Why can't it be recognized for what it is ? And dose anyone know who has possession now ? I guess if its the new record or even very close it would worth a ton of $$ to whoever has possession.I think they should give it back to Lees family.

So any animal he owns is banned from B&C? Well guess it's up to Darner whether or not he thinks having this buck anonymously hanging on his wall is the best way to have the success of Lee Spurgeon remembered... He did say Spurgeon didn't care to have it measured himself.
