Here is a buck I seen 3 or 4 years ago.
Would you shoot him on a unit that took you 5 points, 10 or 20 points to draw?
1st day, last day?

I would fill my tag anytime any day on any unit except maybe the Henries, but even nearing the end of my hunt I'd take him on the Henries too.
His score is minimal but I love mass and this guy had it!

But, he does appear to be somewhat non-typical.

Cant believe I lost the 3 years of pics I had of this guy on a old computer. He lived a long time and I dont think anyone shot him as I believe he died of old age or a mtn lion got him. One year while he did not have 15" bases his were just about as large as they get.

For me I would not shoot him and I know for sure my wife would pass up the chance as well she passed up the chance to hunt all the bucks that hang out down there ..

No I wouldn't shoot he just doesn't do it for me even with his great mass. 15 years ago bang or twang one or the other ideas of what you shoot change with age.

I have seen some monsters on the books, same with the henries, the central mountains manti, and wastach. The key is to get off the wheelers and hike a mile, its never crowded past 100 yards off the road.

I'm curious whether those pics were taken after the season. I'm hoping so and hoping he died of old age.

Couldn't agree more, definitely a unique deer and that's what I like. The mass is just a bonus! But if I'm on a unit like the henries and waited 10-15 years for that tag i'm going to have to pass on him
