Hey how is everyone doing? Just found out that my dad and I got picked to hunt unit 15b in NM. This would be our first muzzleloader hunt. We need to buy muzzleloaders still. I put a CVA Hunter-bolt 209 on layway, but was wondering if it was a good buy or did i just throw my money away. Need some ideas my dad still need to buy one as well. Any iformation would be help-ful. Thanks to all that respond.

My advise would be to search out some older post's on this subject. I do know the most important thing to remember when buying this particular type of gun is , you get exactly what you pay for.(spend less get less, spend more get more). There are guns built for affordability and guns built for optimum performance. I think most guns out there will do the job for you, but some will do it better. Its kinda like buying tools. I hope this answers you question.

Hey thanks yeah its true about "you get what you pay for" but i was wondering on the quality of the gun or if anyone heard about problems, bugs, or just poor quality of the gun.

My buddy has gotten the new Omega 50.cal is a pure shooter with 130gr pellets and T/C sabots 1 1/2 groups at 100yds and 3" groups at 200 yds It is a shooter and so easy to clean 5 minutes tops.I'm hoping to get one soon.

a 3-9 redhead set at 6 Iron sights the groups open up to 3" at a 100 at about 5 1/2 at 200 This gun is a shooter but it kicks harder than My Mk-85 or he's other 3 guns(Disc,Savage,Black Diamond all 5o cal). but it a good one as far grouping, I'm saving the pennies right now to get one,He cleans it a couple of minutes it really a nice one for cleaning.
