The California Dept of Fish and Game, University of California @ Davis have being using license fee set asides to purchase lands and then close them to hunting under the false pretense of "critical research." We are in the process of organizing a hunter response network. If you are willing we would like some help. This is not just a California problem, the BLM and the BOR have actively gone along with closure of prime public lands. Please responded if interested,,, we have the ear of one of the members of the state commission!

LAST EDITED ON Sep-08-03 AT 10:01PM (MST)[p]I'm more than interested in helping, I live in So. Calif. I tried to get in touch with Sportsman for Wildlife on a similar matter (trying to get a similar thing going in Calif. that Utah did a couple years ago, their Proposition 5), some of their directors post here on this forum, got a response from their president that he'd "be in touch". Emailed him a couple of times after, never heard back from him.

Yep, I'd be glad to help, as would some of the guys on JHP. Email me ([email protected]) but please don't look for a response back for 2 weeks....I'm packin right now, and leaving for Colorado (Muzzleloader hunt) Wed. morning. I'd love to do what I can to help when I get back.

By the way......the Fish and Game and BLM have been selling public lands for years on the cheap at the expense of us all. There was a PRIME area, approx. 10,000 acres, between San Miguel and Parkfield, for boar, and they sold it off to the Miller Brothers of Parkfield, because they "couldn't control the poaching" that was going on. That's BS. Don't sell our public land because you can't manage it. They have no right to sell our public land to private ranchers, WHO make a profit by "guiding" us for $400/pig to the same land and same pigs that the year before we had public access to. It's a shame and a ripoff to the public (us). The Gov't is FOR the people, and they own NOTHING. We own that land!

Yes,,, Napa. Several properties,,, 4 in Wragg Canyon, I'm not sure about the north side of Berryessa I just know about it,,, right now UCD and Fish and Game, with our cash, has closed nearly 15,000 acres in and around Napa,,
