Hypothetical ... Would You????

Would you shoot? Bow, Muzzleloader, or Rifle hunt. You peak over the ridge and there he stands below you within range. Do you take the shot? Pass? Shoot with rifle, but not with a bow? Shoot with anything? Do you dare wait for him to possibly turn broadside?

One last thing ... Does he look heavy or what?

Rifle or muzzleloader - just inside that right shoulder and "BANG". I can stitch up that little hole in the cape.

Bow- Afraid it would kill me to wait him out, but turn he must!

I never know if i'm going to pass or not on a good buck. These days i'm probably going to get a good rest and take em with my rifle as he stands, if he turns, no matter.

Wait for a turn, unless he is moving towards me and its my only shot. I hate putting one into the front of the boiler room but have done it once with success.

First few days...probably not. Last few days...very likely. Looks like nice mass. The mass actually makes his rack seem not as tall. He won't score well, but a good solid mature buck. Garage wall buck.

Rifle- He wouldn't take a step, that is right where he'd drop. When ever animals get shot in the chest straight on they simply drop right there and I wouldn't hesitate to take that shot. Plenty of room to get past that tree.

I am not good at judging bucks in velvet but I believe he is bigger than most will give him credit for. Long beams, good mass, nothing for back forks and fronts aren't great but still a great buck for nearly any unit.

I would definitely harvest that buck unless I know of a better buck in the area that I was specifically targeting.
