colorado unit 55 mule deer

I have 2nd rifle season mule deer tag for unit 55 and was looking for any tips i can get about pretty much anything.I have never seen the unit but i figure its gotta be steep as its east boundry is the divide.What elevation would i expect to find deer at?Weather? Im not looking for anyones secret spot just a little info. Thanks

Haven't hunted there. Sounds like your best bet is to get there 4-5 days early and scout the unit.

I have your same tag, and it will be my first year hunting the unit as well. I haven't received any tips or info. I just have found a few areas on google earth that look good, so I plan on backpacking in a few days before the opener and staying the entire week. Best of luck to you!

Go high get above the elk hunters and you will find the bigger bucks.

I have seen deer in the basin during 2nd season above 10k ft.
