Despite his size, this buck will go down in my top few hunts. This normally a buck that I would pass up. However, my son made an awesome spot on this buck, glassing him up at 715 yards right at dark. To see him so excited about finding this buck for me was priceless. I laid my .300 RUM over my pack and my son got to watch the impact at 715 yards. He staggered about 20 yards and fell over. My sons smile was touching ends on the back of his head. Watching him practically run down the mountain tripping over everything in the dark was a beautiful moment for this proud dad. His excitement makes this buck a monster in my eyes.

Sounds like your priorities are right where they should be! I have a Dad just the same, and can't say enough about him, and I'm in my 30's now. Great shot!

I'm sure he'll be dying to spot deer for you now on! Good job...

LAST EDITED ON Oct-21-14 AT 05:09PM (MST)[p]I love this. One of my funnest and most memorable hunts was having my 7 year old son next to me in a tree stand when a cow elk came in to water. After the shot you would have thought there were 10 school girls in the tree.
Good job taking your kids hunting and it is a great buck too.

HOLY CRAP!!!

715?

You're in MM Trouble now!:D

Nice!
