Fist of all thanks to everyone that helped me with the information. Leading to this great buck on the Henry Mountains. I would have not known where to go without your help. We will start off by saying about six weeks ago the Division of Wildlife called and said someone turned in a Henry Mountain Deer tag for the Management hunt. I would gladly accept this tag, then the scramble started to find out information on this area. I did not have time to scout due to the distance. There are some great members on this site that provided me with enough information to get me in the right direction to make this successful.

Opening morning we seen great bucks that we could not shoot due to the size restrictions. Then this bruiser came over the hill and grunt and snorted and the seas parted none of the other bucks wanted anything to do with this guy. He came down to within 130 yards and stood broadside which seemed forever, it was probably 15 minutes. After confirming he was the one I put the hammer down on him and the rest was high fives and smiles.
Thanks To Everyone who made this happen!!!

Thanks he is 30 3/8 wide and has 7 inch bases. His neck was 30 inches. We figure him at about 8 yrs old by his teeth or what is left of his teeth.

Beautiful management buck. I love the size, mass and width.

I'll bet none of the other bucks wanted to mess with him. They didn't want the ugly to rub off on them! LOL....that buck is a monster. Talk about mass. Congrats on a stud buck.

Nice Buck. There were A LOT of great bucks killed this year on the management hunt for sure.

Thanks for all the comments, Hope to see more bucks that came off of that area, They have a great thing going down there hope it is still around in the future to try again. We seen buffalo, elk and of course some bruiser deer.

What a freakin TANK..!!! I'm pretty sure that's exactly the kind of buck the Management Tag is meant to be hung on...

I can't believe in your whole story you never mentioned he will taste good like every other forkey shooter says!

That is a PERFECT management buck! I wish more units had management tags and people wouldn't abuse them. I think it would be a great way to increase the trophy quality on some units. Anyway, great job and congrats!

Awesome management buck, great job! Anyone else have pics of their management bucks? Would love to see them.

Congrats Mike. That's sweet you got to hunt that place and kill such a great muley. Swing by sometime. Hows the new place?
