thank you Elkassassin. I have used a 243 for 27 years and have always liked it. The first year I was married I used one of Jeff's guns. It kicked way too much, he said it was a 308. Before the next year he bought me a 243 and we shot it a lot. This year I had to get a new gun. I went to the sporting goods Store and bought this Savage. I took it over to Jeff at his shop and told him I liked the feel of this one and to build me a Deer gun out of it. I picked out the scope also, but we had to get some extra high mounts for it so I could see through it. It can mount a camera in front if I want to look at the screen,but I didn't use it that way for the hunt. It has a recoil reducer in the stock and a muzzle brake that takes all the kick but makes it really loud.
