Hunt with Trump Jr.

With Teddy being one of the most prolific poachers, I think I'll chose Junior.
 
Id be glad to hunt with the man. It'd be good to actually meet the guy without the press telling us how to feel about him. What better place to get to know someone than hunting.

I think it would be a cool experience, couldn't agree more about getting to know someone out hunting. Plus 10 years from now you could say you hunted with the pres. HA!
 
Politics need to be left out of hunting. I'm sick of hearing it 24/7 through the news, work, social media. Hunting is an escape from the world. Let's keep that way.

I'd like to hunt with Trump Jr. My neighbor went along on a Trump Jr. bear hunt last spring I believe it was. He didn't hunt, just went along for political gain I guess.

Rough crowd! I'd hunt with the homeboy any day. Knows his sh!t and can defend hunting/firearms without a handler.

Any of you ever hear him speak on the topics? Plenty of material on the net, including lots of content during the election cycle, before President Trump was elected. Didn't shy away from any questions.

I've heard him speak (not in-person) but he sounds knowledgable as hell to me.

They'll get an entry from me.

I have no particular issue with Jr. but comparing his conservation record (does he even have one)to Teddy Roosevelt is pure political propaganda and highly inaccurate. Calling TR a 'prolific poacher' when he was never charged or convicted of poaching is just silly. If you have proof of him being charged or convicted please post the source and link.

Teddy Roosevelt and Aldo Leopold (two people I greatly admire)have likely benefitted every western public land hunter in some way. Just because someone hunts and owns guns does not make them a champion of conservation and/or public lands. I genuinely hope that by the end of his Presidency, Trump crushes Roosevelt's conservation record - he is going to have to pick up the pace.
 
look at the hunts he did with the late Jason Hairston(KUIU founder). seems legit to do a bunch a sheep hunts. physically and mentally tough hunts. pretty sure 90% of DC wouldnt be able to do that kind of hunting. seems like a guy we want on the side of hunting and fishing to me.

I've spoken to the man, face-to-face, without any press or pressure and the guy loves the outdoors and what hunting represents to us little people (although he isn't actually one of the little people).

He talked with me about his outdoor roots with his grand father. I suspect he's like lots of us. Probably make for some great campfire talk.

I'd hunt with him any old time...if he can keep up with this old man! LOL

There will always be haters for one reason or another. Such is life.

Anyway, maybe I'm wrong about jr. When I get some time I'll do some goggling and see what jr is all about. With the likes of Donny boy whispering privatize water, privatize land and privatize wildlife in his ear I'm not holding out much hope.

No I doubt he's a diy wilderness guy. But a "rich kid from new York" hunts is a positive.

Look at the rich kid from Michigan who is my Jr SENATOR. Or the rich kid from DC who is my Sr senator in Utah. I've seen don Jr hold a gun. I've seen Romney. I buy its not trumps first time.

My question is, it says the Elk hunt is valued at $5000. What kind of Elk hunt in Utah can you have for $5000? Or is there some tax reason they value it that low?

I'm pretty sure I remember an article where Trump Jr. went to Colorado after college and did a stint as a bartender. Made some friends and did some DIY archery elk hunting while he was there.

Also, it was his maternal grandfather who got him into hunting when he was a kid. Hunting on Grandpas farm. He seems to be as much his own man as a guy can be, when living under the shadow of a figure as large as Donald is. I would enjoy spending time around a campfire with him.
 
He also was taught how to hunt by a teacher at his boarding school. Said there wasn?t many kids wanting to go bird hunting with the guy so it was mostly just Jr out there in the woods with him.

Having a dad like trump would be hard because that guy obviously didn't take his boys out in the mountains and teach them about big bucks or wildlife conservation.

He learned it from others and like many of us he gained a passion for it. Different way than most of us for sure but if he wasn?t worth 200,000 million bucks, wasn?t a high profile figure, didn't grow up with a billionaire father from New York I'm beating he would hunt just like all of us.

Look at Joe Rogan, do you think you would see joe out hiking solo on a diy hunt ever? Probably not, some guys just don't do that they can't see themselves by themselves. Don Jr may be a guy like that.

If I draw I'm making sure I kill a bigger bull than him though!!

That's a Letter to the Editor, it has nothing do with the political leanings of the paper.

If that was a Letter to the Editor on FoxNews would've you agreed with it? Why do so many Trump supporters attack anybody with which they disagree?

The author wrote, "As a public land hunter, I know the spiritual nature of hunting and the connection it maintains between man and nature. But, sadly, I feel that the commercialization of hunting by groups like Hunter Nation fly in the face of the spirit of hunting and of the conservation ethic that Roosevelt so strongly stood for."

There are countless hunters of all political persuasions which agree with that sentiment.

I wasn't knocking the author but more so the paper. I went back to the link to get some examples but many of the stories had changed. Still looks like they lean more Chicken Noodle News (CNN) than Fox

Actually my son has hunted with Jr. several times in very difficult conditions....sheep hunts in the Yukon and BC. Extreme elevation, weather and terrain, my son speaks very highly of the man, his toughness , ethics and ability to climb a mountain. I would be proud to hunt with him.
