It has been a year tomorrow since Officer Cory Wride's life was taken, while serving as a Utah County Sheriff. I thought it would be good to share with MM some pics of Cory doing what he loved best...being outdoors with family and friends hunting Muleys....For those of you who knew Cory, know what kind of person he was,I was lucky enough to have Cory as a classmate,a friend and client and fortunate to be able to mount and give his family,Cory's muzzleloader buck from San Juan Elkridge, As you can see from his pic,you can tell he was truly one of the Good Guys....

This is a wonderful tribute BLT. Thanks for the reminder of a fallen officer and family man... :)

Thanks Paul. That is a great tribute to Officer Wride and the other officers who put their lives on the line every day to protect us. This is particularly appropriate right now with all of the criticisms being cast toward law enforcement.

Very nice Paul!
So sorry for his family because of his early demise. Even after one year I'll bet it's difficult for them.

I just want to personally thank Paul for all his work and dedication on completing this mount for my family. When he heard the tragic news about Cory, he stepped up immediately and said he would take care of everything. Paul is not only a great taxidermist but an equally great friend. I will always look at this buck with great fondness and remember the last great hunt I had with my brother on Elkridge in the fall of 2013.

Sometimes life deals you and your family a trial that is not easily understood. Cory?s life was cut short by the heinous act of a violent individual. Over the course of the last year, I have learned to not focus on the way his life ended but rather on the great memories I had with my brother while he was alive. Cory taught me so much about hunting, fishing, and the outdoors but even more importantly about life and what it takes to be a good person.

Life is fragile and can end in an instant. Make sure the people you love know you love them. Be a good person, take nothing for granted, and live life to the fullest.

Thanks for the post Paul.

I was fortunate to have Cory work for me, back when he was a young man. Even a year later, I am still heart sick at the senseless act that took him. The Wrides are as good as people come and they certainly deserve all of our love and admiration.

I have learned that none of us get through life on our own, and the quality of our lives are only enhanced when we reach out to help one another. Thanks for reaching out Paul. Hopefully we can all do the same in our own way.

Thanks for the kind words....As you can see from the responses,Cory was a class act who left a lot of people with a lot of great memories, for me,I had a really good day, the day that I worked on his buck, filled with good feelings and memories of Cory Wride....
