Colorado/Nevada Landowner Tag

I'd like to try something I've never done before this year and purchase a landowner tag in either Colorado or Nevada. My hope is I can find an area that I like and continue to purchase a tag most years. I'm willing to spend between $2500-$5000 for the tag. I'm not even sure where to start or how to begin the search.

I'm in my 30's and still enjoy getting out and hitting it hard. Love to spike camp in and make an experience out of it.

I've tried reaching out to Huntin' Fool but have had limited success in getting any direction or advice on how to start. I'm hoping you can shed some light on next steps, etc.

I've always wanted to hunt unit 35 in Colorado but haven't drawn out yet. That would be a great choice for me in Colorado but am open to other options. Thanks!

I sent you a pm but Colorado you use to be Abel to get tags through brokers but this has all changed this year no one seems to know what cdow will do this year
Nevada is great since you can hunt all the season and the better units are harder to come by but a great way to kill a big buck

Thanks for the info! Does anyone have any suggestions for what landowner tag could be a good option for my budget in Nevada? Where could I learn more about what tags are available?

On the Colorado 35 tag I actually have 7 points. So my dilemma is I don't want to burn them on a 3rd season tag and I haven't been able to get a 4th season tag yet. Hence why I'd love to get a landowner tag this year and hopefully get the 4th season tag in a year or two.

That's good to know on the change this year. I guess it's just a waiting game now.

Thanks for the info YBO. I know its just a waiting game now but in previous years, how would I go about securing that tag from a landowner? Would I find a landowner? Was there a broker of sorts that could get me in contact with them?

Thanks again for the help!

I did my first Landowner voucher last year in Colorado where I paid a broker and then the landowner sent me the voucher. With a new rule change the broker will list the landowners with vouchers available and we will have to deal directly with them. The only maybe good thing that may come from this is that most can't process a credit card so the cash price might be less.
