Very unique buck! Excellent taxi work and yes, you should be happy with a buck like that! Got a story to go with him?

+1, i too would like to see a hunt story if you would. I always like to hear just what was going thru a guys mind when he first laid eyes on a really big buck.

That's a buck to be proud of. Congrats!!

Jkell12, Thanks! If you don't mind, i'll post your tale here as well. Archery buck too! Very impressive!

"Ok so here's the story behind this buck. My brother is kicking himself in the butt right now because he had been hunting since the 1st. He hadn't really been seeing much because of the snow that had worked its way to our unit. I get to hunting on the evening of the 2nd. We hunt all day Saturday and Chase a few littler bucks and a really nice couse, but just couldn't get in range. The bucks are just not in the full rut, well as of the 4th. So on Sunday my brother hunts the morning and ends up leaving back to Albuquerque around 10:30 to catch the Dallas game. Myself and my dad decide to get breakfast in town. It's now around 11:15 and we decide to go hunting since we haven't seen no movement till it warmed up around mid day. We then end up deciding to park at this spot and walk to a point and start to glass. We start glassing these bluffs and low and behold my dad's dog starts to bark. It's not a normal bark either, it's more of a kinda yelp! My dad's dog is a Chihuahua named "juero". I look at juero and tell him ssshhhhh!!! He then does it again but I notice his attention is looking down and to the left. As I'm looking, a little forky pounces down the ridge along with.......... This stud buck and a doe standing below us. They were bedded down the whole time under our noses! Ok so at this point they are only 40yds below us and my dad is whispering " stick him stick him, JUERO BE QUIET " the doe never moves so the buck stays there for my arrow to meet him with a double lunger!!! We watch him all the way to the bottom of the bluff as he falls over!!! My adrenaline is so overwhelming that I'm shaking, even my dad was shaking! All in all this was the best hunting trip to date! Now the fun begins because my dad has bad knees and ankles so I had to quarter the Deer up and pack him out from the bottom which was about 150yds strait up with snow!!! It took me about 4 hours but was way worth it!!!! Till next year!!!!"

Thanks again!

Joey
