First off this message is meant for those who are directly involved with cache valley and bordering units. This is not meant to turn into a debate. As many of you know, North Logan city has been trapping deer within city limits for the past several months due to a few residents complaining about deer in their yards. The problem with this is north Logan city is literally built on a winter range that ungulates have used for hundreds of years. Many of these deer that are being trapped are not "urban deer" but rather deer that come out of the mountain ranges during the winter months. Some of which are traveling more than 20 miles. These deer are being trapped and relocated out of the cache unit. They are taking our wildlife that we hunt due to the complains of a select few who don't like deer
These two deer are two deer that have been trapped and killed in the process that are both mountain range deer that simply migrate and winter near and within city limits.

We have set up a city council meeting to address this issue on April 8 at 7:00 pm. We need as many of you sportsman who are not ok with this to show up to this meeting. If anyone needs more information or wants to be added to the reminder list, message me and I will do what I can to help.

Just sending out a reminder for any of those who were looking to attend the meeting. It will be tomorrow at 7:00 pm at the north Logan library. 475 E 2500 N Logan

The meeting went as expected. North Logan city Council is willing to work with people on finding a different solution to trap in urban deer that does not affect migratory deer. The issue is now a growing concern because Logan city is proposing doing the same thing. We will now be addressing Logan city to be sure that they understand that migratory deer will be coming down during the winter. It's honestly getting ridiculous. A Facebook group has been started that will be addressing these issues and doing problem-solving and brainstorming to help come up with ideas that do not affect the migratory deer during the winter time. If anyone chooses to follow and wants to be updated on things join the Facebook group and page, "cache wildlife Association"
