I have a friend who has a small ranch on some river that splits 132 and 133. I can't remember the name of the river, Blackfork maybe? I believe it's in the Uintas. Anyways, it's a general tag for me, I'm a res. He has invited me down to go deer hunting. Do any of you know anything about this area? I don't want to burn my personal days if there isn't potential for a decent buck. He doesn't have a clue what's on there. He doesn't really hunt. This will be his first year there too. Anything you can tell me would be great. I don't see on the WY Game and Fish site when the season there closes. Does it run till Nov. 10th like up near Cody where I am or is it shorter? Anything you can tell me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone.

Pretty sure its a 10 day hunt, Oct 1-10. Depending on the area in those units and how munch ground he has, You could have a very good hunt. I would defineately take him up on it.

YELUM, I'm not sure how familiar with the area you are, but the ranch is in the more southern part and it borders a small piece of national forrest. Does that help at all with knowing how the hunt might turn out for me? Thanks again.

It's my understanding that Utah implemented an early rifle hunt across the border from where you are talking about in order to give Utahn opportunity at deer that otherwise migrate across to WY.

First I'd say the further you are from the border the better...

Secondly, in years past, my family has had to endure seeing really good bucks on the WY side, in those units, as we headed to our hunting area in the Uintas on the Utah side...

I'd take the opportunity at least once just to see the area. Good luck

If it near the Meeks Cabin Reservoir, the yes thats the Blacks Fork river. I used to film some nice bucks in that area. Is his property on the East or west side of the river
