Our group of 4 is looking for another person interested in applying with our group. We hunt G constantly and grew up in the area. Needs to have 6+ pts and willing to do Special, PM me for details.

If you have 6 points or more, why would you have to go special?

4 points last year got you in the regular draw.
3 last year got you in the special.
I have 3 or 4 points.

Theodore Roosevelt's guidance concerning
conservation...
"The movement for the conservation of wildlife,
and the conservation of all our natural resources,
are essentially democratic in spirit, purpose and
method."

"We do not intend that our natural resources shall
be exploited by the few against the interests of the
majority. Our aim is to preserve our natural
resources for the public as a whole, for the
average man and the average woman who make
up the body of the American people."

"It is in our power...to preserve game..and to give
reasonable opportunities for the exercise of the
skill of the hunter, whether he is or is not a man of
means."

They obviously need someone that can boost their overall applicant points... 6 points in the Special Draw..? Basically a waste of 3 years putting in...

LAST EDITED ON May-24-15 AT 01:52PM (MST)[p]with this extended app period......do you think app numbers will be way up??

...my guess would be that they all have 2 points

Given that he and his group are willing to show someone the ropes, especially since they grew up there and have hunted it a lot, 6 points is not a bad deal. Guided hunt would cost a lot more. G is the best deer hunt Wyoming has going right now so I would expect applicant numbers probably will continue to rise for that tag...

I agree with all that has been said. I was just wondering if I was missing something when I asked the question.
Marburg....you made some good points but I agree with a previous post. I think it's a waste of 3 points just because i'd want to go DIY. But that's my opinion.
Some still may question if they think the extra 3 points is worth a trade in the information or experience the group already has. IDK...

Showing someone my honey holes is not worth the points to me. And I'm not giving up my six pts and special $ NOT to be in someones honeyhole. JMO

I think the group of 4 need to sweetin the pot and offer to pay for the Deer license also. That would be less then $150 for each guy that seems fair for the opportunity to hunt the region they may not other wise draw.

Sorry, I posted this in Wyoming as well and hadn't seen these :/ We're just looking to trade information and possibly add another hunting partner to help secure our position in the draw. If someone is just looking to burn points and hunt, then they should do 6 pts in the Regular draw. I personally would never pay somebody else's license to apply with us. Yes, this is all legal, Wyoming setup the system and people do this constantly playing the points games that the western states feed us. I sure miss the old Wyoming days of just applying every year but points are ok too.

Anyway, even with all of that said, we're good to go on our app.

Good luck in the draws!

>Legal??

Yep; there is nothing illegal with paying for someone else's license. Parents do it all the time for their kids.
