ohhhh baby! I'm sure some will want to know how many years it took to draw...22 years, had max points and I still feel so lucky to have drawn. I would rather hunt/kill big bucks more than any other game animal. Been hunting out of state mostly every year over 2.5 decades. Been scouring every youtube video and Henry post. I have some great friends that are excited and want to go. Now I have to do some research and scouting. unfortunately, i am about 16 hours away. If you have been there and would be willing to share some info please let me know. Did i mention I am psyched! I have started shooting( a little earlier than normal ), getting a new range finder, ordered maps, looking at gear. For a simple thing like getting a deer tag this is crazy. Crazy good!

Sorry, but can't help at all. But can give a big congrats and sure hope to see some pics after the hunt.
Good Luck!!

Ditto here sir, no words of wisdom . One thing I do know .... Big bucks live there and that's a Big LOL. Keep us posted and bet you get some PM that help. Best of Luck

McMillian Camp grounds.Nice place to camp
Comm towers for glassing.Tons of people
Tons of spots just off the roads for spotting deer, They are where you find them on the Henry's.

Beg,Borrow,Buy the best glass you can get combine them with the best tripod your money will buy. You are set for the Mountain.

Here The part that will Piss alot of people off,
Scout the Guides, where you see guides/posse's sitting for hours that will give you a clue they have spotted a good ONE.
And that is what you are looking for is one good one.

Best of luck.

Here's some summer video I shot last year down there...

With the caliber of bucks my dad and I saw in just one day and another morning... You won't have trouble finding some stud bucks. We camped at McMillan Springs on the west side of the mountain, below Mt. Penel(sp). We went over to The Horn also, but it was midday and we saw just the bucks laying under a tree.

There were so many other bucks that were too far for my video camera to film, and we just didn't have time to hike to where they were. But the bucks were literally EVERYWHERE.

Congrats. Have a great time and I hope we see you in October with a giant..!! :)

Congrats on the tag, I drew last year. I know the feelings you are going through. If you want any info, shoot me a p.m. I can fill you in on what I know about the mountain,. I could do it here, but for some reason info on the once in a lifetime deer tag down there, gets some people mad on this site.

Have fun, and don't get caught up with the inches game like the rest of the world. You will see plenty of shooter bucks.

Thanks everyone for the well wishes. Starting to put the information together. Darkcloud thanks and expect a pm

congrats on the tag! there is a lot of good access. you've gottem some spot on advice. be ready to hunt all over as there is a lot of very good ground to hunt on all three mountains. you will see a lot of good shooter bucks and a lot of deer but don't expect to see 200" deer under every tree. you have an awesome tag and it is a super fun mountain! best of luck. i'm jealous!

Congrats on the tag!
Browningrage that was a sweet vid!
