Wyoming unit 102

After a decade or so of applying, my Dad and I finally get to hunt Wyoming. I'm thinking of hunting in the south end of unit 102. I am thinking of setting up camp somewhere between Pine Mtn. and Little Mtn. Does any body have a recommendation of a good camping spot. I will be dragging a trailer along, so a good road from the highway would be nice if winter decides to hit early this year. We have never stepped foot in this region. All information will be greatly appreciated.

You should be able to park anywhere.
There are lots spots they are all windy!

thats a fine area..just find a spot you can hunt from just incase of heavy rains..snow never stick around unless heavy...it gets windy and cold fast..rain turns roads(lots of them) to chit like any other place..lots of pressure! just glass glass glass..

From the areas you mentioned you're looking at camping off of Ramsey Ranch rd or Aspen Mtn rd. The country in between Little and Pine is mostly the Red Creek Basin. It's good country, but it gets rougher the deeper you get into it. You should be able to find a spot to park your trailer. If it's a big camper I would not advise going further down (south) Aspen Mtn rd than the head of Telephone Canyon . . . Good Luck.

Thank you all for this information, it is greatly appreciated. From the Red Creek Basin, where would be the best place to get camp water and fuel once I have set camp during the coarse of my hunt, if needed?

LAST EDITED ON Jul-09-15 AT 04:58PM (MST)[p]towards Rock Springs..
20/30 minutes drive.

From Red Creek Badland area...Rocksprings is about 50 miles and Dutch John Utah would be about 10-15 miles.

I would top off your camper's water tank, bring a couple jugs of water for extra, and a couple of gas cans along, but going back to town after several days is not a big deal.

Ok, cool. Last year my Dad & I were out on the Book Cliffs. We had to take 70 gallons of water & 60 gallons of fuel for the 10 day hunt. It was 90 minutes to Vernal or Rangely from base camp.

102 is a very easy area to deal with..no biggie even hunting from town anywhere there holds deer.

Fuel and groceries will be cheaper in Rock Springs but closer in Dutch John. Good luck Ehunt, I remember fondly the days of hunting with my Dad. I hope you guys have a good time.
