My wife and I had drawed out on book cliff north deer tags. I have know idea where to start. We have rifle tags any help would be nice.
Thanks

I just haven't been down there for long time use to live down there on my uncles ranch in the summer. The reason put in was so my wife could shoot something bigger than a two point with a body size of my dog.
Thanks for the input.

Sometimes people read into the hype and want a shot at it. If I never put in for areas I didn't know anything about I'd still be hunting Spanish Fork Canyon, would have never gone out of state or would have probably given it up a long time ago.

Good Luck Wsm! I been in lots of good hunting country all over these western states, most of them were only the one trip. There's just too many neat hunting and fishing spots to hit and hardly enought time.

Ya got to be able to give and take a little $hit aound here to fit in. Welcome, i have no doubt that you'll get your help.

I drew books this year and guess what I have never stepped foot in the state of UT!! guess what thats part of the fun learning and seeing new country.

HUNTNNW, Based on your post in the other Book Cliff thread, you have a friend that knows the Area which is a reason to put in for an area you don't know.

I will be hunting an area that I too have never set foot in this year. Going with a friend.

Nothing wrong with going to new spots.

It was a serious question I was asking. I know that if it were my wife, I would have some knowledge of an area so i could make it a great experience for her. Not saying you can't do it another way.

I know the Book Cliffs pretty well and I have always said that it is a great spot for Women and kids to have a great hunt. I was curious why they choose the Book Cliffs.

The easiest way to get there it to go about half way between Rosevelt and Vernal on HWY 40, go south through Ouray that will get you on Seep Ridge Road. It is now paved all the way south and is a nice Road. Once you get down into the Cedars and what looks like deer country there will be deer everywhere. If it was me I would go south to Divide Road, pick a canyon to the East and camp and hunt anywhere in there. Lots of area and lots of deer. It just depends on your expectations and what you are willing to put your tag on. Good luck, let us know how it goes.
