What do you guys think of this buck? Do you think he will go 170? Is he done growing? Shooter or let him grow?

Pictures are often tough, but he looks like a mid-160's net type buck to me.

LAST EDITED ON Aug-02-15 AT 09:21PM (MST)[p]I'd say 160. Not long beams. Good fronts and good on the g2's. But I don't think 170

With a decent fork in the back and great G4's, I'd say he's going to stretch the tape out to that 170" mark... General season..?? You better be taking him. Archery tag on an LE that's not Henry's or Paunsy, you better take him...

Let us know if you see him again or if you get a whack at him. :)

Hard to tell from the pictures, but my first impression is that this is a fairly young buck. Although he has great tine length, he doesn't appear to have great mass, and from what I can tell from the pictures, he doesn't have the body of a mature buck. So, even though he's a good deer at this point, this is the type of buck I would like to give a couple of years and see if he turns into something special. I think he has the potential to be a 200 inch typical given enough time- look at those G4s.

When I find A buck like that he goes on the "ones to watch list" I would watch him till he bedded, then return to see if he was there again. If he is 3 years old like I think he is. At age 5.5 he is going to be a good one. Chances are he will stay in that area every year.(Of course chances are good he will get killed to.) I would hope the guys with high dollar optics would see the potential and let him go. To many mighty hunters with thousands of dollars of gear shoot great little bucks. My point Is most guys spend more than a thousand dollars a pound for game meat. I don't think its really about the meat. letmgetbig

Yeah, he's right there. Gross score. Maybe a couple of inches over. As for shoot or pass, that's up to you. If you're looking for a 170 buck, there he is. If you're trying to find a 5 year old buck, that's not him. But some of us have to wait 3 years until the opportunity comes around again. By then, he'd be dead or a nocturnal goliath that you would never see again :)

I don't think he is 170 yet. He looks like a young buck that will really score good if he survives a couple more seasons. You can't teach that kind of tine length lol.
