Be pretty impressive year this year if this does officially beat the current world record and the muzzy buck from CO does the same thing.

It's difficult to tell from the photo if it is a cactus buck. I hope not, as cactus bucks are not eligible for the records program.

No doubt cactus buck after careful observation, it could be considered a world record cactus buck for archery but it just won't make it into Pope and Young. Nice Buck though.

That thing is ridiculous. It seems weird that it wouldn't be recognized somehow.

I can never tell how these things score... I don't see anywhere near 300" of bone on that thing..??

I'm guessing they measured and added up every little half-inch bump on that thing... Those won't fly with the official score.

I also have to agree that it looks like a cactus buck to me. I'm guessing it has its own category, or could make SCI..??

Cactus bucks don't get recognized in Pope and Young because mostly they have a genetic defect to where some grow to extreme levels and don't shed their antlers, check out the link.

I gotcha... Weird stuff going on for sure there. How do they tell? Anything in particular? The way it "looks"? Balls ain't big enough? (Jk). Are there a lot of bucks like this that get turned away?
