On the fifth day of the Utah archery hunt I was lucky enough to come across this buck.

LAST EDITED ON Oct-11-15 AT 03:32PM (MST)[p]Wow, mass, mass and a little more mass on this buck. The points are beefy all the way to the tips.

Congrats! Buck of a lifetime right there! Mass is unreal. Thanks for posting. Would love to see that buck hard horned. Not a velvet guy, but WOW!

Dry_, what's your plans with this trophy? are you going to strip the velvet or have it preserved? Also, if you don't mind telling, what's the outside spread on that bruiser? My guess is 29"

We see a lot of bucks here from the "Books", not many have the bone your buck has!

I saw a velvet buck on the books with some serious mass the first year it opened back up to hunting, but this buck is off the charts! I hope you saved the velvet!

What a cool buck

Wow- that is a big, heavy, old buck..!! Congrats on a stud Book Cliffs deer..!! Any chance you put a tape to him..?? I'd like to know just how much mass he has.

Dry, I was hoping to see the pictures again of that buck. As you know, hes far above the average out there!
You and your buddy stopped and chatted with us quite a few times in the area you hunted during the first part of your hunt. I was the one in the Tundra. I still remember the night talking with you guys in the middle of the road with bucks walking past the trucks. There was something about that "fence line"! That place was too much fun.

Congrats again on a phenomenal buck!

Joey,

I am having the velvet preserved. He is real close to 29", I didn't get a good measurement. I took him straight to the taxidermist, didn't want to handle it until it was preserved.
