see what you all think my buck this yr scored

Very difficult given the picture. For all we know he could be 23" wide or 34" wide. We will need additional pictures showing a better size reference than a guy standing 6 feet in the background. Nice buck no matter what the score.

LAST EDITED ON Oct-17-15 AT 01:46PM (MST)[p]boy couple of you guys are real close on score!! Or at least what we came up with Going to have him scored for book I think. But does not really matter he will look good on the wall. He has multiple points on eye guards 2 on each side over an inch. Longest being 3 1/2" which I only scored the longest so think I was off a little I think I Can score the other points as well on the eyeguards that are over an inch right??

he is a pinch under 28" widest spread

Main beam inside spread is 23" spread

Scoring the first picture with a deer with a head larger than your torso, I'd say a tad under 255. Your second pic, I agree mid to high 180's. Super buck, congratulations!

LAST EDITED ON Oct-17-15 AT 08:52PM (MST)[p]So some are close, i too started zeroing in on a score of 187-188.

Close enough is good enough for me. If we use these fun threads to be a little better at judging trophy quality in the field, i think that first impressions or those numbers that a guy comes up with quickly, are those that best help when applying photo judging skills to field judging.

I think i do fairly well but I've been so far off photo judging before, it wasn't even funny! :)

Yote, Heck of a buck young fellow, would be the buck of a lifetime for many, many devoted Buck Hunters! Congrats!

young fellow I like that!!! pretty much right on score. I had 186 6/8 but he may go a few 1 way or another I need to re measure eye guards.

thanks all

He's a bruiser buck for sure. Very cool bases and great tine length. I'd say he is 182"

Thanks for sharing... :)

LAST EDITED ON Oct-19-15 AT 01:47PM (MST)[p]I agree with Vanilla, I couldn't get him over 180, maybe he is wider and heavier than the photo is giving him credit for. My guess was 177, real nice buck....congrats!

Wow! What a good lookin buck! I'll go 178-3/8"

Not sure about the main beam length hurting the score on the fronts, nonetheless, I wouldn't have passed him up either! Congrats!
