Well took the advise of some and took time off later in the hunt. I scouted and have seen some ok bucks but seems to be more roads then deer. Heading out in a few hours to try and hunt the morning and the next 6 days. Big unit and camping in my truck so plan on camping a few different spots but going to start around little mountain. Dont know how cell service is but anyone been seeing any pre-rut yet? Just excited to get out and hunt instead of working.

I hunted that unit three years ago and it was pretty slow. We saw a lot of deer and small bucks. Just no mature shooter bucks. So I will to interested to hear how it goes for you. Good luck!!

Had a fun hunt. Not any good field photos but couple truck photos. Happy with the buck from all the bad rap the unit seems to have. Hope the photos work.

That buck looks fantastic. Is it me or does that buck look like it could be a 175-180'ish buck? I'd be extremely happy shooting a buck like that. Congrats...

ended up 6 days. I had the 30th off and did pass on some bucks I would have taken if I didnt have a day off towards the end to shoot a buck. Seems like a lot of 3x3's 3x4's and 4x4's with a weak side.

That is by far and away the biggest buck I would have seen down there. I wound up shooting a decent 4 point were you seeing any rut activity around the 30th? I had that whole week off but got antsy the weekend of the 24th and took the biggest deer I had seen to that point.
