Just got back from Alberta. Can't get enough mule deer hunting. I have received a few PM's about next year already and it seems like the CO seasons have got folks ready for next year already and it got me thinking. How soon do you guys make your plans and how many hunts can you effectively do each year? I have always tried for 3 hunts but might cut back to 2 Muley hunts to make sure that I am giving my best effort every time. How many mule deer hunts are you guys planning on in 2016?

An absolute stud Rich! Just a beautiful deer.

Who did you use? I went up with Mike earlier this year for the archery hunt.

Trying to get a couple good hunts in next year, already planning!

If you did 3 hunts a year and only killed one buck of that caliber, that would be a very very good year. Congrats.

OKAY NOW THAT PICTURE IS WAY BETTER THAN THE CELL PHONE PICTURE YOU SENT ME. AWESOME BUCK LOVE THE CHOCOLATE HORNS, TOTAL BRUISER... CONGRATS GLAD YOU HAD A GREAT HUNT:)

That is my exact words to you kicker, your pics are way better than on the phone, so post em up! Great buck Lost! Now tell kicker to post his!

Very nice buck Rich.

I'm not sure what's more impressive the antlers or the neck, I don't think I've ever seen one that swollen. the taxidermist is going to need some pillows to stuff in there.

Congrats on a great buck, Rich. You were due for him. That pic really makes me want to head back to the Peace River country. Great place.

I always hunt at home in Wyoming, and always hunt Colorado. And if I draw a good hunt elsewhere, I go. I try in Nevada and Utah, and I go to Canada sometimes too. So to answer your question, at least two, maybe three.

Have to agree that this photo is much better then on the phone. Congrats on that toad. He is a stud. From what I know and have seen personally, you always make the best of the hunts you go on!!! Best of luck in this years draw and have a great holiday season!!!

Got to love those Alberta Bucks wide, heavy and dark just like some of the women Bobcat chases.
I did 5 hunt one year and it really kicked by A$$. I try to 2-3 hunt and hope I SEE a Buck like that one.

Well done on a great buck! I'm planning a busy 2016. Starting next month in AZ with the OTC archery hunt. I'm going into my final year in the dedicated hunter program here in UT so I'll have the archery, muzzy, and rifle hunt to find a good one, I'll put most my time and effort into the archery and muzzy seasons. I should draw a CO muzzy deer tag and see what happens in the NV draw.

Thanks! Big ol Buck!

Wow that is a great looking buck......can you tell me how much that buck weighed? The body looks like the body of a steer.....?

The mule deer that far north are huge. They have to be to survive the winter. I have never weighed an Alberta buck but comparing them to the states deer they are much larger for sure. I'll take Alberta over Mexico every time.

I know that when i first came to this website, this is the kind of monster buck and write up that i came to see.

Congrats and a bump!

Thanks Joey, I will be back the last week of November looking for another big buck. It is an awesome experience that keeps me going all year long.

Good hell that thing is huge, I'll say what everyone else is thinking. Did you really just put some antlers on a horse?
