Mt Hillers Monarchs

Hey everybody! Spent 8 amazing days on south end of Henry Mountains on Mt Hillers videoing muleys. Saw more big bucks than I could ever start to film. Saw some true Giants and amazing scenery. I love going down there in November every year. I tried to put together a short film with quality footage and as a result some of the BIG deer I filmed didn't make the cut. Besides there are a gazillion videos on line of Giant muleys. Hope you enjoy my short film. Enjoy!

Thanks for the nice comments and positive response. I love filming mule deer. You guys are picking up on the little hidden secrets in each segment. Yep that buck in the far background upper right corner walking away, 5:00 min mark is a solid 33 inch wide 170 4x4. I got hours of film of him. Good film. I just liked the young buck with cheaters singing while that wide buck was walking away. Nice job for seeing that! Also, the buck at 3:23 mark is blowing steam. Thought that was a nice touch. Also the buck at 4:00 min mark, if you look in the distance- the background between his antlers- you can see herds of deer running around like little ants. Lots of bucks rutting all over the place. That management buck is a unique son of a gun for sure.

Great production value. I liked the intro with the buck walking toward the fading moon. That buck with the "elk" rack was insane. Well done! May we both draw that tag some day!

I sure appreciate the kind words. You guys are awesome! Hey gznokes, hope you get to hunt that unit sometime. As long as I can go down and film those big deer then I'm in my element. Would love to pull the trigger on a Giant but hitting the record button is about the same music for me. I love it!

Really spectacular, thanks for sharing. I noticed a sort of mirage or blurring of the background when antlers turned or moved. Is that a result of autofocus?

Hey I sure appreciate the words of encouragement on my short film. It really means a lot. I know you guys are hardcore mule deer nuts so I'm happy so many of you enjoy it. Yes Elkduds that is the autofocus. Sometimes the camera will try and focus on so many other points that it can blur even the subject I'm trying to focus on. It sure is awesome when it all comes together. Thanks for the interest!
