So very sorry to hear that news. Praying HIS , Mighty and healing hand overcome in this situation.

Here is what I know...
Last Tuesday he was in an accident working on a tractor I believe when somehow a steel pole flew up and hit him in the head. It took a 6 inch hole out of his skull and hurt his neck. He was able to call for help from I gather which probably saved his life. He was in ICU all week. His family has set up a Facebook page for him, #teamjason2016
He has a long road of therapy and recovery. Those who know him know what kind of guy he is, one of the toughest guys ever. He will need all your thoughts & prayers. Thank you everyone

Met Jason a few years ago while hunting here in Nevada. He and his guide towed our broken down ranger back to camp about 5 miles. Great guy from what I remember. Hope he heals quickly and gets back to the hills soon!

Oh my God!
My prayers are with him and he's family! Let's us know if there is anything we can do to help him or his family.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts any prayers for Jason and his family. They are still needed. I am actually here in his room with him now having spent the night with him. He was able to rest pretty good until about 3 am and then he got pretty restless. Finally about 5 am he motioned that he wanted to talk. I asked him if I could tell him about a recent fishing trip or two and he really like seeing the pictures. I then told him about how many people are concerned about him and his family and how many people have expressed their love and support. You could tell that it meant a lot to him. I showed him some of the Facebook and Instagram messages and he was again overwhelmed by everyone's responses there. If you have a minute, post up a picture or memory with Jason there and especially leave your words of encouragement. We will share them with him. Like many have stated before, Jason is the toughest guy I know. He is also one of the best men I have ever met. Like a lot of us here, I met him by what some would call "chance," but I have no doubt that it was more than that. Jason has been and still is, one of the best influences in my life. When the nurses come in they ask if we are brothers and I proudly and humbly tell them that we are.

One of the nurses that just came in had heard that he was an Ironman and asked him about it. Me and Jason had planned to compete in the St George Half Ironman this May. I have had a few minor health setbacks myself and told them that he was just in here for a little tune up to give me time so I can be ready for next year. I have absolutely no doubt that we will run this race together. Jason is an inspiration.

Last week Jason was having trouble breathing again and the doctors recommended performing a tracheotomy to allow his trachea time to heal. Because of the difficulty to speak they gave him a pen and paper and this is what he wrote: "Do It." This has always been Jason's attitude and way of life. "...quit making excuses and DO IT..." I have printed this picture out and have it hanging where I shave every morning. Because of him, I am going to "Do It!"

I invite all of you to follow his progress on the Instagram and Facebook link that 257Tony shared: #teamjason2016.

For years we here on MM have been inspired by bigolmuley's posts. 2016 is going to be a year to remember for Jason and his family. Miracles are happening, prayers are answered. Prepare to be inspired. Jake, Sliverslinger400

Prayers from Colorado!! Get well soon!! Although we have never met, we are all in the hunting family and wishing you a speedy recovery!!

He is a fighter so I know he wouldn't stop fighting, until he is better. Tell to get well because I'm hoping to draw Az strip tag for deer and he NEEDS to be along on it.

I joined his Facebook page to keep up on his recovery. It has made me pray for his recovery every single day. His wife is doing a great job of keeping everyone informed of his status. If you need any humility in your life and something to pray for this man is golden.

A beautiful post from his wife:

It's 4 in the morning and my brain is freaking out because it doesn't know what to do with so much rest. So far no one is sick this morning.
I was was finally ably to see Jason at 4:30 last night. He reached for my hand and mouthed to me he had a hard day. The brain injury makes him cry easily. To me that is endearing, but a totally foreign aspect to our relationship. I told him he is the strongest man I know and that I have complete faith in him and I love him.
He had physical therapy yesterday. He was taken off the ventilator but the transition opened a new scab at the sight and measures were taken to assure us this was indeed the bleed we saw. He was given sedatives and I watched the scope go down his throat. Although it was completely enthralling to me, the poor guy gagged profusely.
Troy Horton came in to see him with Jason's phone and it was as if he had been reunited with his third arm. Somehow in my memory I can hear the angelic chorus. He needed to make sure rent was being paid. He went to sign in, looked at me with tears in his eyes and mouthed, "I can't remember my pin." Everything is sadder with tears.
Jason was given the talking valve yesterday but because of the bleed and the dire need to suction it out of his lungs he wasn't able to keep it. As long as the bleed is done I don't see why he won't have it later today.
Plans are in the works for the big move to rehab today. Barring any further complications he will be situated in his seventh hospital room by the end of the day.
I have never loved my husband more. The caregiver in me has lacked the empathy to give him the kind of attention he deserves. How does one take care of superman? This very human experience has burrowed into my heart and brought out a deeper love than I knew I could have. It is one of the greatest blessings of my life.
When he asks why this happened, if nothing else I will say, "So I could love you more."

Prayers sent. Hope you get better quick. Don't know you, but by what I'm reading, sounds like your doing something right.

Here is Jason's buck he took off his family ranch in Idaho this past season! He let the girls hunt first, his and my daughter took nice management bucks. He loves to see other's success and likes to help others. One of the best hunters around!! Best of friends!!

Hang in there Jason. You can do it. Prayers to him and the family. Keep your heads up, God does amazing things and I will pray that things get better soon.

Jason is doing much better this week! His physical therapy continues to improve little by little, day by day. It's great to see that he is in much better spirits the last few days. I'm sure it will only get better week by week. I have no doubt we'll back on the mountain chasing big animals again!
