wyoming mule deer hunting

I need a little advice as I have only hunted in Wyoming one zone the Region G and it was after the big die off in the early nineties. I have 7 preference points and my son has two and we are looking to hunt Mule Deer this year and we were thinking about trying Wyoming.
We aren't looking to get in the record books but would like a good hunt that has a good chance at a decent Mule deer in the 160's to 170's can anyone out there lead us in the right direction.
We are non-residents as I am sure you can tell from my post any help would be appreciated

IMHO from what I've read on the net and what I experienced on my hunt in Region G last September that's the place to go for what you're looking for. However, the only way you'll draw it this year is by putting in as a party in the higher priced Special Draw. With your 4.5PP average you would draw the tags if the stats stay like last year since it was a 100% draw for those that applied in that draw with more than 4PPs.

Put in for the tag with your boy. You won't regret it if you draw. If you draw, let us know and I'll give you some info on what I think might give you a good hunt.

There is a ton of good and beautiful area in G. There are decent sized bucks in all of it once you get away from where the traffic and hunters are.

Region G has been experiencing about a half point per year point jump. So if it took four points last year it could easily be 4 1/2 this year.

So I think your 4 1/2 points is going to be right on the edge to draw the Special tag.

If you guys go the G route just make sure you and your son are both physically able and have the equipment to hunt it properly and safely. Without the gear or ability you may be very disappointed, but with hard work and a little luck you both can kill a deer like you're looking for. G can be the best place you've ever hunted or the worst, that part is up to you.

thanks guys I appreciate it, the one time I did hunt there like I said was back in 92 after the big winter kill I shot a 4x4 but it was nothing to write home about. but after a week and my buddy not connecting we went home as we only saw two two points after opening day
I remember it being steep but with good access we hunted the Grey River drainage but it has been so long I don't even remember how to get back there
